Quick Answer

What is a Credit Score?

A credit score is a number summarising your loan repayment history. In Indonesia there are two main scales: Pefindo (250–900, used by banks for in-depth assessment) and OJK SLIK (Collectibility 1–5, checked for every credit application at a licensed institution). A higher score means lower interest rates and larger credit limits.

The Pefindo Scale (250–900)

Pefindo (PT Pemeringkat Efek Indonesia) is Indonesia's oldest credit rating bureau. Banks use the Pefindo score for deeper credit-worthiness assessment beyond the OJK collectibility check.

A Pefindo score above 700 is generally enough to unlock competitive KPR and KTA interest rates. Below 580, expect most bank applications to be declined.

The OJK SLIK Collectibility Scale (1–5)

The Collectibility Score is the mandatory OJK checkpoint. Every credit application at a bank, multifinance company, cooperative or licensed P2P lender is checked against your SLIK record.

Frequently Asked Questions

What credit score do I need for a KPR mortgage?

Collectibility 1 (OJK SLIK) with no overdue payments in the last 12 months. A Pefindo score above 700 helps secure better interest rates.

Does checking my own score lower it?

No. Self-checks are soft inquiries and don't affect your score.

How long does it take to rebuild a bad credit score?

Collectibility 2 can recover in 3–6 months after full repayment. Collectibility 5 requires the full 5-year window.

Do paylater services affect my credit score?

Yes. All OJK-licensed paylater services are reported to SLIK monthly.
